SYDNEY, Australia – Surprising Belgium vs. impressive Switzerland was the first semifinal tie at the United Cup Saturday. And Switzerland continues its run

The start was moved up half an hour, to 10 a.m. Not sure that made a huge different with temps expected to reach 40+ degrees Celsius mid-afternoon and not dropping off much in the early evening. Especially as all the matches went the distance.

The Americans were arguably the favorites in the night-session semifinal tie, but not by much against Poland. And in the end, it came down to the less-known heroes in the mixed for Poland.
