Saturday finals used to give the players a couple of days to get to Melbourne before they might play.
But with the Sunday start, it’s now a super-quick turnaround although with the partial schedule on Opening Day, players in a specific part of the draw can at least get one day to travel and acclimate.
It’s … not a lot, though. Especially for those who choose to play the Auckland event, which is a much longer flight (and two hours’ time difference) to Melbourne.
(Auckland is 18 hours ahead of ET and Adelaide 15 1/2 hours ahead)
