MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Rankings Report – As of Jan. 19, 2026

MELBOURNE, Australia – With two ATP events, albeit a the 250 level, and multiple Challengers, there were a few moves in the rankings even if they didn’t change anything like Australian Open seeds.

The winners are Tomas Machac in Adelaide and Jakub Mensik in Auckland.

So a very winning week for the young Czechs.

And honorable mention the previous week to Hubert Hurkacz, who moved up 30 spots to No. 53 with his effort at United Cup, Pedro (up 25 spots), Stan Wawrinka (Up 17 spots) and Alexander Blockx (up 20 spots to a new career high of No. 95. His first trip to the top 100).

Tomas Machac (CZE): No. 35 ========> No. 24
(Machac had a great week in Adelaide, beating Munar and Paul and then Ugo Humbert in the final to jump up 11 spots. He still goes into the Australian Open unseeded, though, as it came a week too late. That puts him in the interesting position of meeting Grigor Dimitrov in the first round, and perhaps Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second).

Ugo  Humbert (FRA): No. 36 ========> No. 33
(Humbert moves up with his effort in making the Adelaide final. But he, too, is unseeded. And he gets the dubious pleasure of drawing No. 8 seed Ben Shelton in the first round in a lefty v lefty matchup).

Marcos Giron (USA): No. 60 ========> No. 51
(Giron was on an absolute tear in the leadup to the Australian Open. He made the semis in Hong Kong, then took advantage of earning that special exempt to play Auckland, where he also got to the semifinals and beat three top-50 players. So he earned 13 spots before arriving in Melbourne, He gets a tricky one in Learner Tien in the first round).

Aleksandar Vukic (AUS): No. 87 ========> No. 78
(The Aussie went from the qualies to the quarters in Adelaide, including an upset in over Stefanos Tsitsipas).

Pol Martin Tiffon (ESP): No. 373 ========> No. 264
(The 26-year-old from Barcelona makes a nice move as he wins the Challenger in Thailand to open the season).

Andrea Vavassori (ITA: No. 336 ========> No. 291
(Vavassori doesn’t get to play much singles these days, as he makes all the biggest events in doubles and would have to drop down to make a go of it. But when he can squeeze into a qualifying draw, he usually does pretty well. Notably, he qualifier and beat Gabriel Diallo in Adelaide last week to get back inside the top 300. His career best of No. 128 came in June, 2023.

Eliot Spizzirri (USA): (No. 85)
Yi Zhou (CHN): (No. 238)
Maximus Jones (THA): (No. 312)

Félix Auger-Aliassime (CAN): No. 7 ========> No. 8
(The Canadian is bumped out of the No. 7 spot, after dropping two spots last week when he lost the points from winning the Adelaide title a year ago. He opted not to defend it, as he’s looking to play more tournaments higher than 250s, but still keep the body healthy).
