The women’s qualifying wrapped up on Tuesday, and Canadian Marina Stakusic faced unseeded Mananchata Sawangkaew of Thailand for a spot in the main draw. Again, a straight-sets win.

She upset No. 2 seed Viktorija Golubic in the first round.

Stakusic will play Anastasia Potapova in the first round of the main draw. Wild card Bianca Andreescu, who was drawn against a qualifier, will have to deal with Kamilla Rakhimova.

Also looking for a main draw spot: Austin finalist Taylor Townsend. And she made it.

One lucky loser so far: Dalma Galfi steps in for Eva Lys, who hurt her knee in Australia and was hoping to return to action this week. Not to be.
