MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Rankings Report – As of April 6, 2026

Three ATP Tour events, and all of them had players who, if they won, would be first-time champions on the ATP Tour.

For the more than just casual fan, those are engrossing storylines with a lot of happy endings. Can’t ask for much more.

And with those breakthroughs, came a whole bunch of new career highs.

And it was a GREAT week for a whole crew of Argentines who had their fingers in all three finals this week.

for Monday, click here.

Ben Shelton (USA): No. 9 ==========> No. 8
(By making the quarterfinals in Houston, Shelten squeeezes by an idol Taylor Fritz and into the No. 8 spot. As well, he wins the doubles with his old college teammate Andres Andrade of Ecuador).

Tommy Paul (USA): No. 21 ==========> No. 18
(Paul is back into the top 20 after a hard-fought run to the Houston title. It’s his fifth title; three of those came in 2024 and ALL of those came on fast courts. A year ago after a Roland Garros quarterfinal, he was No. 8. So he has some work to do and points to defend).

Mariano Navone (ARG): No. 60 ==========> No. 42
(Navone had a terrific week in Bucharest, dealing with rain delays and tough opponents to pull off the first ATP Tour title of his career, at age 25. It’s a career high).

Botic van de Zandschulp (NED): No. 62 ==========> No. 52
(The enigma that is BVDZ moves up almost back to the top 50 with a semifinal effort in Bucharest).

Rafael Jodar (ESP): No. 89 ==========> No. 57
(The 19-year-old wins his first title early, beating the 36-year-old Marco Trungelliti to win in Bucharest. A year ago, he was in school and ranked outside the top 900. He’s rising, and quickly).

Roman Andres Burruchaga (ARG): No. 77 ==========> No. 62
(One of the first-time finalists was so disappointed on Sunday. But Burruchaga, who is 24, gave Paul everything he could handle and moves to another career high after flying right up from winning a Challenger in South America. A year ago, he was ranked No. 139).

Thiago Agustin Tirante (ARG): No. 83 ==========> No. 72
(Tirante made a run to the Houston semis before being steamrolled by Burruchaga. He jumps to a new career high).

Marco Trungelliti  (ARG): No. 117 ==========> No. 76
(After a couple of decades grinding, the 36-year-old Argentine breaks into the top 100 for the first time in his career, and makes his first ATP Tour final. But young Jodar was too much for him. Still, the man who got famous in 2018 after his long minivan odyssey with his abuela to return to Paris and grab an unexpectedly available lucky loser spot at Roland Garros years ago will come in by the front door this time. It will be the first time, since his first Slam qualifying attempt at Roland Garros in 2012, that he’ll be straight in).

Luca Van Assche (FRA): No. 109 ==========> No. 94
(The 21-year-old moves back ito the top 100 after making the quarterfinals in Marrakech).

Daniel Merida (ESP): No. 136 ==========> No. 101
(Mérida, from the qualifying, ran out of gas in the Bucharest final against Navone. But at 21, he’s on the hrise to a career high and is just seven points out of a top 100 debut).

Alex Molcan  (SVK): No. 189 ==========> No. 163
(The former No. 38 in May, 2022 was at the end of 2024 and the first three months with injury. And he’s finally putting up some good wins on the way back up. He went from the qualifying to the quarters in Bucharest).

Liam Broady (GBR): No. 278 ==========> No. 247
(At 32, Broady’s big achievement came when he broke into the top 100 – finally, in Sept. 2023. He missed several months in 2024 just as he was finally establishing himself. And it’s been a battle since then. He wins the Miyazaki Challenger to make a nice leap. Broady was at No. 730 a year ago, as he began his return).

Jiri Lehecka (CZE) (No. 13)
Ethan Quinn (USA) (No. 54)
Rafael Jodar (ESP) (No. 57)
Roman Andres Burruchaga (ARG) (No. 62)
Thiago Agustin Tirante (ARG) (No. 72)
Marco Trungelliti (ARG) (No. 76)
Adolfo Daniel Vallejo (PAR) (No. 96)
Daniel Mérida (ESP) (No. 101)
Nicolas Mejia (COL) (No. 150)
Dali Blanch (USA) (No. 349)

Flavio Cobolli  (ITA): No. 13 ==========> No. 16
(The Italian didn’t play last week, and so didn’t defend his title in Bucharest).

Frances Tiafoe (USA): No. 18 ==========> No. 20
(Tiafoe had a great week in Houston, losing a nailbiter to Tommy Paul in the semis. So he didn’t quite defend his final from a year ago, but he mitigated the damage).

Luciano Darderi  (ITA): No. 19 ==========> No. 21
(Darderi slips out of the top 20 after losing to Trungelliti in the Marrakech semis, after winning the title a year ago).

Marton Fucsovics (HUN): No. 51 ==========> No. 58
(Fucsovics is already out of Monte Carlo on the Sunday, losing to Cana-Chilean Alejandro Tabilo. He drops the points from making the Bucharest semifinals a year ago).

Kamil Majchrzak (POL): No. 53 ==========> No. 60
(After reaching a career high last week, Majchrzak drops after losing in the second round in Marrakech. Worse, he withdrew from Monte Carlo due to injury).

Jenson Brooksby (USA): No. 41 ==========> No. 64
(Brooksby was a shock winner in Houston a year ago out of the qualifying. This year, he lost to Mackenzie McDonald in the first round. So a lot of points drop off).

Filip Misolic  (AUT): No. 96 ==========> No. 110
(The Austrian drops his points from going from the qualifying to the quarters in Bucharest last year last year. Misolic’s career high of No. 76 came in February, but he hasn’t played since. In five tournaments this year, he’s won just on match (against a player ranked No. 1,749. The timing couldn’t be worse with the Roland Garros entry deadline a week away; Misolic has a Challenger title to defend next month. He qualified at Roland Garros last year and upset Denis Shapovalov in five sets in the second round before getting a Court Chatrier dream matchup against Novak Djokovic).

Roberto Carballes Baena (ESP): No. 159 ==========> No. 204
(The 33-year-old veteran, who broke into the top 50 exactly three years ago, lost in the second round of a Challenger in Menorca, erasing the points he earned last year by making the semis in Marrakech and dropping quite a bit).
