On the second day of the main draw, players like Zeynep Sonmez and Karolina Pliskova get big slots on the main stadium, with Alexandra Eala on the second stadium, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario.

Eala will play veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who sort of fell off the map for awhile but was impressive in qualifying for the main draw. The former Roland Garros finalist, currently ranked No. 116, will likely find herself in the qualifying in Paris as well.

She was out from the US Open to the end of 2025, and after losing her first round (12-10 in the third-set match tiebreak) in Australia, dropped from the top 50 out of the top 100. She hadn’t won a match of any kind in 2026 until the last two days.
