The Indian Wells qualifying got under way for the men on Monday with Gabriel Diallo and – in a last minute squeeze-in – Alexis Galarneau.

So Quebec was representing. And they both got through – for Galarneau, an impressive win over a much more accomplished opponent.

Only nine of the 24 seeds got through their first-round matches.
