Bianca Andreescu finally returns, nearly two months after she injured her ankle in her first round in Montreal.
Her draw turned out pretty well, against qualifier Anna Bondar. (She was to play Magda Linette, but Linette ended up moving up to be the No. 33 seed and into the spot left vacant by the late-withdrawing Elina Svotlina).
And she was competitive, but in the end went down in two close sets.
They had played in the first round of Wimbledon two years ago, won in three sets by Andreescu
