Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski, making a speech after teaming up with Timea Babos of Hungary in the 2010 Australian Open junior girls’ final.
Just 17, Dabrowski was at a career-high No. 5 in the ITF combined junior rankings at the time, after a long stretch of success that began in late November – from the Eddie Herr in Florida, continued onto Miami where she won the prestigious Orange Bowl, to Mexico and Costa Rica before a tuneup event in Australia, and then the main event.
She and Babos lost the doubles final to Jana Cepelova and Chantal Skamlova of Slovakia.
Here’s part of the trophy presentation. They’re so young!
