Frenchwoman Aravane Rezaï was once world No. 15. In 2010 she upset Justine Henin, Jelena Jankovic (then No. 4) and No. 3 Venus Williams to win the big WTA tourney in Madrid. But there was family drama, especially with father Arsalan. She has suffered bouts of depression and has hardly been seen in four years.
Rezaï first came back in 2015, only for three tournaments. She returned this spring for two small ITFs in France. Now 30, she’s hanging in there. “Life has ups and down, but never give up!!” she posted on Instagram Tuesday.
