It’s a girl for Maria Kirilenko

Early September was a fruitful and productive time for tennis procreation.

Serena Williams and fiancé Alexis Ohanian had Alexis Olympia Sept. 1. Novak Djokovic and wife Jelena had Tara the next day. And on Sept. 8, retired Russian Maria Kirilenko and husband Alexei Stepanov had their second child.

You guessed it: another girl.

The baby joins son Mikhail, born in Sept. 2015. Kirilenko married Stepanov in Jan. 2015 after breaking off an engagement with hockey superstar Alexei Ovechkin six months before. 

Kirilenko  played her last match almost exactly three years ago in Beijing. But … she’s only 30.
