18-year-old Federer in Basel

Things have, er, cleared up considerably since Roger Federer was 18.

As he takes on his hometown tournament once again this week, here’s a flashback to an interview half his life ago, on a Basel television station.

First thought: his bedroom is tiny.

Then again, that might be because it’s jam-packed with trophies. The photo of him as a ballkid with Jimmy Connors is great.

Most of all, it’s always good to know teen-Fed was a big fan of the American TV series Baywatch – more specifically, of Pamela Anderson.
