The American sporting goods company Under Armour may be leaving the tennis scene, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The company has had a tough year financially, and some turmoil among its top executives.
All of that could make for a very interesting off-season for US Open champion Sloane Stephens.
Stephens has been with Under Armour since 2010. That’s forever, in tennis sponsorship terms.
Obviously her negotiating power has never been higher, with her high-profile comeback story in 2017 culminating in the first Grand Slam of her career.
And at home in the U.S., no less.
