
Everyone knows that there’s nothing less cushy or absorbent than a brand-new towel, especially the multicolored, patterned ones. They’re often coated with fabric softener.
So Novak Djokovic asked for a plain, white towel during his match Monday in Madrid, one of several players to do so.
That happens regularly at tournaments. Usually it’s not a problem.
But in Madrid, it’s a no-no, as umpire Damian Steiner informed Djokovic. Only physios can use the the non-logoed, white ones.
At first Djokovic was somewhat incredulous. Then, he just laughed.
