Pics: Thiem puts a little “extra” on the volley

TORONTO – It’s pretty much a trademark of a Dominic Thiem stroke to have his tongue come out before he hits a shot – and then have it disappear as he makes contact.

You wonder if he even notices it, or has a clue how this actually came to be over the years.

Because it happens 99 per cent of the time.

But when the Austrian does it on the volley, it’s especially funny.
