MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Another comeback for Aravane Rezai

She’s 31 now, more than five years removed from her last Grand Slam main draw at the 2013 French Open. And she’s eight years beyond a career high ranking of No. 15.

But France’s Aravane Rezai returned this week, a wild card into the qualifying at the Kyotec Open, a $25,000 ITF tournament in Luxembourg.

She won an easy first round, then lost a third-set tiebreak to the No. 1 seed, Tayisiya Morderger of Germany, a 21-year-old ranked No. 500.

Rezai’s been talking comeback for years, but has only managed a handful of events per year since she last played regularly in 2013.
