When Tennis Canada’s national training program was inaugurated in 2007, it had a dozen kids (boys and girls) from across the country.
The 2018-19 class, though, is significantly downsized.
And there are no girls at all.
Along with one returnee, 17-year-old Taha Baadi, only four new prospects have arrived for the new season.
Two are Quebecers – Jaden Weekes, 14 and Maxime St-Hilaire, 15. Ontarians Justin Boulais, 17 and Stefan Simeunovic, 14, also are on board.

Félix Auger-Aliassime, now 18 and out of the juniors, has graduated.
