Halep against “Fed Cup Finals”

Even if the women’s Fed Cup competition follows the lead of Davis Cup and changes to a big, week-long finals extravaganza (so far, any murmurs in that direction feel like lip service), world No. 2 Simona Halep is firmly against it.

“I would keep the Fed Cup as it is now because I like the spirit, for me it’s an unbelievable week when I go to play for my country.

The system is made like this. So I would keep it and I hope they don’t change it until I retire,” Halep told The National in Dubai.
