
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A few months ago, with Denis Shapovalov and Félix Auger-Aliassime making the Miami Open semifinals – right after Bianca Andreescu WON Indian Wells, it seemed the teens were taking Canada straight to the top of the game.
Certainly the rush of stories glorifying the “Canadian way”, and anticipating major things in short order, did nothing but buttress the expectations of Canadian fans.
But four months on, that bullet train has hit a few speed bumps.
The players who are, or hope to be, part of the dynasty are preaching patience.
