Sad news during the Australian Open as 15-year-old player Kent Yamazaki died in Nepal during practice.
Yamazaki had just started playing at the ITF level; he was in the qualifying at the G5-level event in Kathmandu.
According to Tennis Australia, he lost unconsciousness and hit his head on the court. And he never regained consciousness.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday at a park in Menora, a suburb of Perth.
Yamazaki’s parents Tomio and Kimie ask that guests come in tennis atire, and write notes to their son to be placed in his casket.
