WTA Miami Open – Monday, March 22 final results

Another day, another packed schedule of tennis as the Miami Open gets under way.

Only the women will be on court today, in the first round of qualifying. The level is awfully good for a qualifying event, understandably, because it a 1000-level tournament.

And that’s even with the withdrawals, which did not hit the women’s side nearly as hard as the men’s side.

Up against the clock is Monterrey champion Leylah Fernandez, who travelled to Mexico City last night, will get to Miami today and had to take the court late in the day against Mihaela Buzarnescu of Romania. It was a little too much.
