Impressive win for Brit Dan Evans in Monte Carlo

Dan Evans is just playing good tennis – period.

At this point in his career, it seems to matter a whole lot less what surface he’s on.

The 30-year-old Brit upset the 2019 Monte Carlo finalist, 6-3, 6-7 (11), 6-2 to move onto the second round at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters.

The match was suspended because of the rain on Monday, after Evans won the first set.

They resumed Tuesday and after a hard-fought second set went to Lajovic, Evans closed it out.

Afterwards, he talked about clay, about Wimbledon, and about Medvedev’s positive test for COVID-19.
