For the third time in five weeks, world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty and Aryna Sabelanka will meet.
This is the biggest occasion – the final of a WTA 1000 tournament.
The Madrid final follows in the steps of a pair of three-setters – notably, in Stuttgart two weeks ago, a match where Barty remained steady while Sabalenka self-destructed a little bit.
Two weeks later, Sabalenka has rolled to the final.
We’ll see if the ending is any different.
