Without Novak Djokovic, Team Serbia managed to come through in its first tie.
But the bad news, both personally and for the team is that Team Greece leader Stefanos Tsitsipas was unable to answer the bell to play singles against Poland and Hubert Hurkacz.
Tsitsipas had some sort of surgery on his elbow after the 2021 season (which as we know wasn’t very long ago). And he’s clearly not ready yet.
He said after pulling off the doubles that it needed more time to “breathe”.
