MELBOURNE, Australia – So much Aussie content on this penultimate day of the Australian Open.
First, No. 1 seed Ashleigh Barty became the first Australian since Christine O’Neil in 1978 to take the women’s singles title.
And then, the men’s doubles final was guaranteed to produce a pair of Aussies as winner. So that is win-win, big time. And the “Special Ks” won it.
