Late-night action in Geneva as Denis Shapovalov, after a first-round bye, got into action against Ilya Ivashka.
It was a quick one and done for the Canadian, who should probably avoid the 250s because this happens to him fairly often.
On to Paris, where hopefully he can make it in time for girlfriend Mirjam Bjorklund’s final-round qualifying match.

I hope you have a good time in France, Steph.
Although I only went to Winnipeg last fall, it was weird to travel for the first time since the pandemic started.
I wish I were here for a good time 🙂
Yeah, I travelled less during the pandemic but they’ve all been big trips and it’s probably even worse now that the planes are jammed again and masks are a thing of the past. More stressful – because if I get it, I don’t want it to be on the road where it costs me money and where if it’s bad, I don’t have … connections and such.
It’s not as glamorous as people think 🙂
Looks like you are in Paris.
Will you be doing Radio RG?
Had oodles of fun listening to you on AO radio in 2021. Didn’t have convenient access this year though.
If you are not, you should be.
I will be doing some. Not as much as last year.
Someone who hadn’t travelled for awhile because of the pandemic is back this year, and she gets her “old job” back. 😛
I could pull my hair out listening to the mainstream tv commentators describing tactics, how important this point is , where the player should have done this or that… enough!! They have a great grasp of the perfectly obvious.
Where you come in is info about the extra more personal stuff, where they are staying, what they like to do after the matches, who they hang out with, how they are feeling and stuff like that that makes all us humans unique and interesting. And of course what they like for dinner and how it is going with their boyfriend(s) for the gals. Carry on !!!
You forgot tennis kit analysis 🙂
Most of the commentators either aren’t on site, or when they are you rarely see them roaming the grounds. So they talk about what they know, really.
