ROLAND GARROS – The third round is when the seeds are supposed to start to meet.

But in the case of this bottom half of the women’s singles draw, only two meetings went according to form.

One of those is No. 14 Belinda Bencic vs. No. 17 Leylah Fernandez (which also could have been derailed, but for a great day by Bencic Wednesday and a poor one by opponent Bianca Andreescu)

And Fernandez pulled out an impressive win.
