EASTBOURNE, England – No. 2 seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Giuliana Olmos had a tough first set against Kirsten Flipkens and Roland Garros women’s doubles champion Kristina Mladenovic.
But they got through it, and rolled from there to reach the Eastbourne International quarterfinals.
Here’s what it looked like.
The Kristina Mladenovic we’re seeing these days is a tough facsimile of the former top-10 player at her best.
The serve is just a … struggle. Constantly. Even with the title in Paris there’s just none of the swagger she had in her finest days. Although swagger is always a thing that can just come back on a dime.
The entire Mladenovic clan, of course, was on hand for this one.
