On a steamy hot day, she prevailed in three sets and now will face unseeded Daria Saville in the quarterfinals Friday.
In San Jose, No. 2 Paula Badosa and No. 3 Ons Jabeur swung into action, with Badosa barely getting by young Elisabeth Mandlik, and Jabeur getting through a tough opener against Madison Keys.

I guess (like usual) the NBO isn’t talking about the pre-qualifying at Toronto. I looked high and low on the website for info on the same. I guess they don’t actually want anybody showing up for those matches. It would be nice for them however to give the lesser Canadians a bit of a shoutout…..
