Tuesday is the day the top seeds who went out early in Montreal – Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz among them – will try to kickstart their summer hard-court season for real.

So far, so good.

As well, the players who went deep in Montreal have to get right back on the horse and go at it again – notable Dan Evans and Pablo Carreño Busta.

Neither had much to bring to the dance Tuesday, understandably. And Carreño Busta, who had planned to team up with Alcaraz in doubles, withdrew from that.
