As with the other group, two of the top three seeds in the Red Group lost their openers. And so Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev squared off in a must-win match Wednesday night.

It went to Tsitsipas, in a squeaker.

For Novak Djokovic, who has only faced Andrey Rublev twice before in his career, it was an opportunity to clinch a weekend spot, but get back at him for a loss in the final of the tournament he owns in Belgrade, Serbia.

He got it done – and in style, too. He looks tough to beat this week.
