MELBOURNE, Australia – Super semifinal day in Adelaide as all four participants were seeded.

Less fun – WAY less – was the fact that both semifinals were walkovers as first Paula Badosa, then Veronika Kudermetova couldn’t make the date.

Not great for the fans, who still managed to get some great tennis as both men’s semis were hard-fought battles that went the distance.

In Hobart, only No. 8 seed Yulia Putintseva remaining among the seeds to the quarterfinals. And she didn’t make it to the weekend. So you have to take a serious look at unseeded wild card and 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin to perhaps sneak this title out.

(Adelaide is 15 1/2 hours ahead of Eastern time; Hobart is 16 hours.
