MELBOURNE, Australia – Well, at least the finalists at Adelaide 2 are … rested as both had their opponents give them wins via walkovers Saturday in what was … not the best day in WTA history.

And in the final, Belinda Bencic played like she had an early dinner date.

So two weeks of spectacular draws (or potential draws) in Adelaide sort of ends with a whimper, not a bang. But look out for Bencic.

In Hobert, some surprises as unseeded Elisabetta Cocciaretto and qualifier Lauren Davis met in the final.

Cocciaretto was looking for her first WTA title in her first career final.

Davis denied her.

(Adelaide is 15 1/2 hours ahead of Eastern time; Hobart is 16 hours.
