Having the top two players and seeds in the tournament on the same day meant the lineup in Warsaw was a little less stellar on Wednesday, with No. 4 seed Zhu Lin and No. 8 Linda Noskova headlining proceedings. In the end, though, the day was almost a complete washout.

In Lausanne, there also was some weather so there was some catching up to do, and six of the eight seeds are in action.

Hamburg had No. 6 Putintseva and No. 7 Arantxa Rus. But with the men’s lineup they have Wednesday it might well just fall into the abyss. And that’s no offence to those two.
