TORONTO – Mackenzie McDonald and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina was the two singles quarterfinals scheduled.
This could have been Casper Ruud vs Milos Raonic. But the American and the Spaniard had different ideas, and went out and pulled off impressive victories – Davidovich Fokina in a third-set tiebreak. And he did it again.
For Alex de Minaur and Tommy Paul, two pretty monumental upsets as they eliminated No. 2 seed Daniil Medvedev and No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz respectively.
