If you’re a fan of Canadian tennis, get the coffee out.
At 2 a.m. ET, Leylah Fernandez took on No. 5 seed Anna Blinkova in the Hong Kong semifinals, after the 21-year-old Canadian impressed in defeating back-to-back talented teens to get there. She impressed again, withstanding a late second-set charge by the feisty Blinkova to win 6-2, 7-5 and reach the final.
At 4:30 a.m., with qualification to the WTA Finals on the line, top seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe take on a Chinese wild-card team to get to the semifinals in Zhengzhou.
And a bunch of other good stuff.
(Zhengzhou and Hong Kong are 12 hours ahead of ET; Seoul is 13 hours ahead).

Quick question- did Fernandez and Townsend make the cut already for the doubles race to the finals? Live rankings seem to confirm that. Thanks
No. Check my Twitter for updates.
I would have written about it if so.
