The last two ATP tournaments of the year are under way, although Metz started its main draw on Sunday.

Plenty of Frenchmen there, and also Dominic Thiem and Stan Wawrinka.

In Sofia, thin skeds to start the tournaments, which have 28-player draws. That event (they’ve had an ATP tournament there before; that was Vasek Pospisil’s third and most recent ATP final, in 2020). But they stepped in when the tour understandably had to cancel a planned tournament in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Alexander Donski, a kid born in Philadelphia who went through the juniors as a Canadian, went over to representing Bulgaria a few years ago and has a wild card into the doubles.

(Metz is six hours ahead of EST; Sofia is seven hours ahead).
