MELBOURNE, Australia – Felix v Fils would have been a fun quarterfinal. But FAA didn’t make the date, and so Fils got Daniel Altmaier for a spot in the semifinals in Auckland. and made it.

In Adelaide, Jarry vs Lehecka was an underground quality one.

But Tommy Paul v Jack Draper was (hopefully) be the match of the day. In the end, not so much.

In Auckland, with Shapovalov and Auger-Aliassime out at the first hurdle, it was Chilean-Canadian Alejandro Tabilo who is the last (at least partly) Canadian standing, into the quarterfinals and then into the semis after No. 2 seed gave him a walkover.

(Auckland is 18 hours ahead of EST; Adelaide is 15 1/2 hours ahead).
