The Wimbledon qualifying went off without a hitch this year – perfect weather, and not a single rain interruption.

And nothing held over even for darkness.

You can’t ask for more than that.

Among those disappointed were veterans David Goffin and Richard Gasquet, who fell at the final hurdle on Thursday.

Also disappointed – big serving Giovanni Mpetschi Perricard, the No. 1 seed who is currently ranked No. 59 (but whose rise came too late for the long-ago deadline for the main draw).

Mpetschi Perricard dropped 44 aces on countryman Maxime Janvier (73 winners in all, by the … interesting Wimbledon winner/error tallies). He was +39 on aces, awhile Janvier was … +2. But it wasn’t enough.

Also disappointed was No. 6 Luca Van Assche, who was the next into the Wimbledon main draw. And you KNOW there will be last-minute withdrawals; they just didn’t happen by early Monday morning, so he had to play the qualifying.

Van Assche battled a ton through his first two victories. But in the end, he was beaten in three sets – also by a countryman Lucas Pouille.

Here are the Wimbledon qualifiers, whose first-round opponents will be known at Friday’s draw.

Most of them are not kids; Mark Lajal is 21, four others are 23 but everyone else is 26 or older. The oldest, at 34, is Radu Albot.

Four of them are French – only one of whom is clean-shaven.

Eight of them – half – are making their Wimbledon main-draw debuts.
