It’s a rare thing for a Chilean player to be in a … grass-court final.
In fact, it hasn’t happened for more than 40 years, since Jaime Fillol (now know as the grandfather of Nicolas Jarry) did it.
But the Toronto-born and raised Chilean Alejandro Tabilo not only did that, but won the first grass-court ATP title by a Chilean in the Open era.
Maybe it was all that time spend playing on fast indoor hard courts as a kid in Toronto!
