MONTREAL – Three weeks post surgery to repair a torn meniscus, Hubert Hurkacz wasn’t even sure he could play at all – never mind do what he did on Saturday.
The No. 4 seed didn’t get to play his first match at the Omnium Banque Nationale until Saturday because of various rain delays and a first-round bye.
And then, he played two – both comeback wins.
And on Sunday, he’ll have a quarterfinals and – if he wins – the semifinals.
Here’s our piece for Canadian Press.
