Félix Auger-Aliassime was back at it at 11 a.m., hopefully more rested physically and mentally then he was when he had to get on court at home in Montreal last week. From the look of it, he was.

And so was Alexei Popyrin – who just Monday night won the biggest tournament in his career in Montreal. And now he had to get right back at it and play the veteran and venerable Gaël Monfils in the first round in Cincinnati. It was competitive, but Popyrin is out.

Also: as a first-rounder, Holger Rune v Matteo Berrettini was a tough one.
