Félix Auger-Aliassime looked to follow up a fairly routine win in the first round Tuesday with another upset over top-10 player Casper Ruud on Wednesday night, late. Except it didn’t happen because of rain. So they’ll try again tomorrow, with the winner having to play again.

Auger-Aliassime defeated Ruud at the Olympics on red clay. Since then, Ruud has retired from doubles and withdrawn from singles in Montreal, and withdrawn from planned doubles in Cincinnati.

Also in action: Montreal finalist Andrey Rublev – and Olympic silver medalist Carlos Alcaraz, who had an interesting opener against Gaël Monfils and, while he was close to finishing, couldn’t close it out before the rain.
