Not many options for the women this week during the first week of the US Open – the best they can hope for is a $40K ITF.
On the men’s side, there are a bunch of Challengers. But it appears none of the Canuckians are playing them – it would have helped if one was in North America.
But the main action is in Queen’s, where four men – Auger-Aliassime, Shapovalov, Diallo and Alejandro Tabilo – and two women – Bianca Andreescu and Leylah Fernandez – are in action in singles.
There are also some hopes in doubles.
The luck of the “draw half” lottery means that ALL of them are playing on the same days, as long as they’re alive in the tournament.
