After qualifying on Tuesday, Canadians Denis Shapovalov and Gabriel Diallo played their first-round matches back to back on Show Court 3.

Shapovalov was first up and pulled off a nice win over Lorenzo Sonego, while Diallo was super-competitive in defeat against the talented Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The comebacking Marin Cilic and Kei Nishikori, who met last week in Tokyo, were both on the stadium court on Wednesday. Nishikori came out a winner, while Cilic went out.
