It was the final “finals” day for the WTA Tour – although that means it’s the last week of the regular season.
It was … somewhat overshadowed by the fact that the Tour finals began Saturday, and continue on through the end of these three other WTA Tour events.
It was No. 1 vs No. 2 in the Hong Kong final. And Diana Shnaider won her fourth title of a tremendous season.
The Jiangxi final featured No. 2 seed Rebecca Sramkova – who has finished this season in major style – against Swiss veteran Viktorija Golubic. Who won her first WTA Tour title since 2016.
In Mérida, which has dealt with rain all week, they had to get through the semis in both singles and doubles, and then the finals.
Which they did. And the lovely Zeynep Sonmez wins her first career WTA Tour title.
