There are a few in the Brisbane draw including Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, and it’s a crapshoot.

Despite Opelka having been around a fair time – although not in the last two years – the two were meeting for the first time. But Djokovic’s 10-2 record against the now-retired John Isner will certainly help him feel good about things. That said, Opelka was impeccable.

In Hong Kong, the best match was expected to be the unseeded Cameron Norrie and the wild card Kei Nishikori. And the Japanese veteran is on a roll.
