The women’s first-round qualifying was split over two days, starting one day earlier than the men who played their entire first round on Monday.

Both wrapped up on Tuesday.

Of the original 24 seeds, 15 remained. But only four of the 12 matches were the on-paper seed vs seed matchups.

Unfotunately, both Canadians were ousted in the first round.

Top seed Kimberly Birrell is the only one of the top 11 seeds to get through the qualifying.
