But as the women have Osaka and Kvitova among the unseeded, so do the men have Nick Kyrgios and Gaël Monfils.

Kyrgios tried to play at Indian Wells. But he was clearly still having wrist pain. He’s trying again, but you wouldn’t hold out huge hope that things have improved in two weeks. And yet, he’s through for his first win in more than two years.
