MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Miami – Monday, March 24, 2025 final results

Denis Shapovalov was the only Canadian left as the Miami Open ticks over to its second week. Which is, by all measures, not great.

He’d only had to play one match so far, and got through in a third-set tiebreak against Thiago Tirante.

On Monday he faced a significantly different challenge against No. 3 Taylor Fritz, whom he’s already played 10 times in his career. It was close in the first set, but in the end Fritz was just too solid.

Also back – teen dream Joao Fonseca, against Alex de Minaur on the Stadium court in the evening-session match. The atmosphere was raucous, and Fonseca had every opportunity to pull off the upset. But in the end, he wore out physically at the end and de Minaur’s experience won the day.

(Miami is on ET).
